Teri Ahlgren

Hi, I’m Teri! I joined Golden Paws in 2023, but my experience with animals spans my entire life. I grew up training my family’s Newfoundlands and later gained hands-on experience in veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and professional pet care.

My approach centers on relationship, communication, and teamwork. I love helping handlers understand how dogs learn and giving them the confidence to apply those skills outside of class.

At home, I actively train and compete with my German Shorthaired Pointers in various sports, including rally and hunt tests. I bring that competition experience into class so students learn not just the skills, but how to train them effectively.

My Dogs

I share my days (and much of my training inspiration) with three German Shorthaired Pointers:

• Whiskey RN MH DCAT CGC FITG FTN VC — my comic relief and demo dog in class
• Reveille RN MH DCAT CGC FITG FTI VC NA1-112 — focused partner working toward higher-level rally goals
• Dandelion BCAT FITS — our youngest, training for conformation and active in 4-H dog projects with my daughter

My husband, our three children, and a small farm full of Highland cattle, sheep, chickens, horses, and dogs make life full and joyful.
